Morgan

Elli was fuming as we walked back to her place, which she informed me was only a couple blocks away. She made me walk Katherina, who kept a fairly hard constant yank on her leash. Whereas Othello was casual. I assume it was part of my punishment for my behaviour at her parent's house. Although I thought I was perfectly respectable.

“So...” I began.

“Of course, here it comes, go ahead. Ask me,” she dared.

I could see the tension in her face, even though she wouldn't look at me. Her eyebrows were forcibly knit.

“Your parents seemed rather enthusiastic about us, I guess we caught them off guard?”

“No,” she rebuked bluntly, “they knew you were coming. I told them ahead of time. They did it on purpose. To embarrass you, or rather, to embarrass me.” She clenched her teeth as she told me this.

Don't laugh right now. She will kill you if you laugh.

Her attitude towards the situation was coming into focus. She knew what they were doing the entire time, helpless to say anything. It just made it seem all the more funny, but I wouldn't dare say that.

“They weren't that bad,” I offered.

“Please don't,” she pleaded, letting out a sigh.

“They did seem to emphasize their hatred for your ex...”

“Okay!” She shouted, making a full stop, “I get it okay. No one liked him, I didn't like him. I get it. The cats out of the bag. You are the first...well, this is the first time...I mean I haven't...”

It dawned on me. She was uncomfortable for a more specific reason that I hadn't picked up on.

“You haven't slept with anyone since Paul,” there was a certain bitterness that was obvious to even me when I said his name.

“Yes, okay. Whatever. Like it matters, it's not like...well, I've had...you know...it's just...”

“Hey,” I cooed, putting my arms around her, “it's not like it's a bad thing.”

I held her close as I rubbed her back. Smelling her hair while I kissed it softly. The tension in her body released as she let me embrace her.

“It's so stupid,” was all she could say.

“Hey,” I pulled away, “it's not stupid. It's a messed up situation, and I'm really glad that you...chose me to be with.”

I brushed her hair away from her face as I kissed her, letting my lips lingers.

“We should hurry up,” she simpered as she pulled away from me, making her intentions well known.
